The purpose of this document is to provide guidance to TIF STEM grantees, and other TIF projects working in STEM education improvement, for identifying student instructional materials in science that support their efforts.  The main audience for the guide is TIF STEM project directors and other project leaders responsible for designing and enacting STEM education improvement efforts. The guide focuses on three main areas of materials selection: ensuring the science instructional materials support STEM education improvement efforts, involving the right people in the selection of science instructional materials, and aligning the selection of science instructional Materials with system needs and processes. A section devoted to each of these areas provides questions to consider when evaluating science materials.
